So the registrations have closed and we’ve drawn the winner, so congratulations to Hugo Tichborne who wins the Vestax Handytrax turntable and vinyl prize pack. Ok so here’s some news from the studio, I’m really excited to start mixing the new EP from Jellphonic, http://www.myspace.com/jellphonic , really blessed to be involved in this one and will be trying to help Jeremy release it, well, because the tracks are killer and really need to be released. The EP has been a huge success for me in term of getting the opportunity to start working with new artists and getting asked to do more remixes. I’ve also had several labels get in touch to license tracks for compilations which is really exciting, watch this space for future Bluevibe goodness.

I’ve been pretty quiet on the blog lately because I’ve been working with The Depot Artspace to build a new blog, it’s going to be a resource site for artists and musicians and is an amazing project to be involved with. I’ll let you all know more about it once it’s launched and I’ll also be looking to get people involved so watch this space. I’m also going to be posting more regularly on here and putting more emphasis on featuring new and up and coming artists who I’m really diggin, keepin it deep and heavy, nice!

The EP’s now available from Conch records and Amplifier in glorious CD format plus you can download it from a list of online stores. I used Tunecore to distribute to the major international stores and DRM for the local outlets and have been really happy with the speed and ease of the whole process.

Just a quick post to let everybody know that I’ll be featured on Superdeluxe with Gene Rivers on Alt TV this Sunday night. We shot it on Thursday and Gene asked me to bring along 5 records of influence to have a quick chat about. Not an easy thing to do at 2hrs notice so I pulled out a batch of tunes that related to some significant moments in my musical upbringing, tune in to get some knowledge on my musical heritage.
The interview was fun and it was great to finally meet Gene who’s going to be droppin some tunes at the launch party next week. Gene also asked me to bring the family down to George FM on Sunday to have another chat about Bluevibe studio and hopefully bring along a few more tunes to play. I’ve had great support so far for the new EP and I’m really excited to get it launched next week.

As part of NZ music month voeveo.com ran a competition to win a $15k promotional package on their website. All you had to do was upload some content to sell on their site and you went in the draw. The good news is (as you probably got from the headline) that I won one of the 5 promotional packages which includes a featured artist page, promotion on the homepage and a google adwords campaign to drive traffic to my page on the voeveo.com website.
Voeveo.com sells content for your mobile phone including audio, video, games and images. I uploaded 4 ring tones to the site which only took me about 20mins to register, complete my profile, and upload and categories the 4 ring tones. You can head over to the Bluevibe studio page on the voeveo website to check out the ring tones. Whats even better is that if you register as a buyer on the site you get $9 prepay on your account which you could use to buy all 4 of the Bluevibe studio ring tones, nice.
Mike from voeveo.com got in touch to let me know I had won the package and has also agreed to hold off on the promotion until the release of the new EP which is now finished and will be out in July. It’ll be great to have the EP available through voeveo.com for all you mobile music consumers and everybody else will be able to grab it through an online music store near you! I’ll keep you informed of the release details in a few weeks time once we’ve got our plan together. This will be the first official Bluevibe studio EP so we’re still working on the best options for the release. I’ll be doing a few posts on independent distribution and promotion over the next few weeks and welcome any thoughts you might have on getting the EP out to the masses.
